Silver has always been a sign of special distinction and elegance when featured on the handles of walking sticks.

This coincided with the rise of the Art Nouveau movement—also known by the English term Liberty style, a name derived directly from Arthur Lasenby Liberty’s London shop, famous for commercializing furniture and objects in the "floral style."

This aesthetic was strongly characterized by graceful references to the natural world, the female form, or stylistic depictions with exotic influences.
